Thanks for the comments, I wrote most of this a month ago but I wasn't particularly happy with the ending. I re-read it this week and it was more complete than I remembered it, so after a few tweaks it was good to go. The pictures come from 'The Last Two Girls on Earth' by Ellen von Unwerth.
