hey there, not sure why this would be be recently there will be an occasional caption image that won't load when clicked on. so far the only ones i've run into are this one, Rubbing Her Up the Wrong Way and the 5th image in 414 URI Too Long. just so you know!
Hi thanks for letting me know. I've done a little investigation and I suspect that Google have made some changes on their servers which are causing issues when attempting to view or upload images. I tried recreating the captions and then re-uploading them but that didn't make any difference. I have also tried viewing this post and 'Rubbing Her Up The Wrong Way' on different browsers and I get the same results as you; either nothing loads at all or it generates a small cluster of red pixels. When trying to open the captions in a new window it generates a '500 server error' message which would indicate that this is a server side issue.
As a workaround you can try opening the posts in Incognito/Private Browsing mode. This seems to work with Chrome but may not work using other browsers. You will need to sign in again to view the caption when in Incognito/Private Browsing mode (here's a URL for some guidance in how to use those modes in different browsers https://www.computerworld.com/article/3356840/how-to-go-incognito-in-chrome-firefox-safari-and-edge.html).
More generally, investigating this does appear to indicate that there have been some background changes in the Blogger platform that are impacting overall accessibility. I like using different browsers to test while troubleshoot Blogger issues but now Google has blocked sign-in with some browser due to JavaScript support.
From previous experience if it is a Google server issue I wouldn't expect it to get fixed any time soon.
